'Star' power

With Reference to specific examples of stars and films, discuss the role of the star within the marketing of a new release film.

Not ever recognizable actor in a film is a star, not every actor that is promoted by Hollywood or the British film industry becomes a star, and stars are not always the most talented people in the film. It is these unpredictable elements which makes the 'meaning' of a star so interesting. A 'star' within a marketing and production of film is a vital point to consider when making a film in which you wish to be a success. A star simply isn't a 'mere' actor, the film star is used as a way to draw in immense amount of money for the box head when releasing a film. This can also be specified as a 'promotional tool'; the contemporary life style of a star actor isn't hidden and his recent activity's are up to date.  The idea of living inside a fantasy of correlative film information and the actual reality of the money that they make and the difference between their life styles have to be clear to the audience. The audience are targeted to have personal opinions and understatements of the 'star' of the film but the role of the star for the marketing is to make sure that they stand out no matter who the audience is; and its their job to intrigue the audience to the up most with that specific character and show that the audience have a economical acknowledge of how important the actor is. For example, in 2007 when 'I am Legend' came out  it was opened to the larger box-office expecting to bring a lot of money, this idea was also reinforce with the 'star' actor Will Smith. The budget for the actual making of the film was $150,000,000 and it was released on the 14th of December 2007 around Christmas. The film especially with promoting the 'star' Will Smith in their front cover poster certainly give the instinct that the idea would be better and meet or surpass the requirement and Will Smith's promotion is a immense part of the profit brought in. In total the film made $585,349,010.

The press media and forefront will help to create such a big image for the 'star' and make them stand out, the distribution of all sorts to make a broad field of audiences who have any interest of the genre style films know about what's going on and the promotion and of the 'star' will have dominance through out all sorts of distribution for their audiences (Newspapers, blogs, news, internet etc..).
The other actor's,the narrative, trailers and teasers will obviously be released. How its released and the fanatical amount of people who will make the image of the star' doesn't just depend on the film makers and editors or even the producers who make the quality of the film exemplary; but in fact the public themselves who talk about the film and the 'star' and who make the image of the entire project for the blockbusters whether its a massive released or not make the image of the 'star' looking bigger.
The 'star' can in many cases be a symbol of hope, dreams and aspiration. People don't just go the the cinema for enjoyment, those who want to gain some sort of knowledge from it and maybe just want to view the film because the 'star' intrigues them in a particular way. This correlation can be linked to their actual own life styles, did the producers of this films create a specific understanding for the 'star', a specific role to emotional grab the readers attention span? Does the 'star' display the convention of all the audiences ambitions, hopes, dreams and desires? These examples can also be illustrates through Will Smith's actor. Robert Neville, a strong man, dependent on will and determination to bring good and try save everyone, a symbol of hope and physical/mental strength. The 'star' Will Smith is a strong iconic symbol for the audiences who want to aspire to be just like him and this symbol of heroes is a example of how the marketing release portray their content and it is a example of the profit that they take from these 'stars'.

How do audiences consume film and has this consumption changed over the years?

There are two different types of aspects to how audiences can view films. The first concerns the technologies via which films and film information is consumed and the second concerns the relationship between the viewer's attitude and those presented within the film.

Audiences consumptions of film:

One way in which audiences consume film and one way in which this consumption has changed over the years is through the technological devices and formats created by film makers and producers. Unique experiences can has a broad effect on the personal understanding of the viewers when they watch films from mainstream film companies or independent film companies. Different people has different thought processes and have different understanding and view point on what's being portrayed to them, especially if it were to be in a multiplex auditorium with different reactions from other people. The the rapid advancement of technology and filming formats that can be portrayed to a wide field of audiences all reinforce the idea that the audiences consume film in different ways, whether it be for a non-theoretical reason or for independent enjoyment.
For example, rather than downloading a film on the computer you can just download a film/movie app on your phone and stream it from the comfort of your own home. This creates a positive effect on the audiences who consume film because they have a wider range of accessibility to choose from.
Viewers also have different experiences on other platforms which reinforces the idea of unique consumption of the film itself and this has dramatically changed over the years and the usage of diverse technology has grown juts as much as multiplex film industries. For example, different platforms of film consumption gives the audiences different ways of enjoyment and a certain group of audiences would prefer one over another; platforms such as DVD's, big screens or online videos.
However a wide group of 'customer consumers' and the development of film consumption can only go so far for other audiences; this means that a group of particular viewers will always want the thrill of watching a film on a massive screen in a cinematic auditorium filled with other people who either have different or have reactions that correlate in the same way. This also means that being surrounded with a group of people who have a niche interest can give you a more enjoyable consumption of the film(if they're with their friends or family for example). This 'collective viewing experience of surrounding customer consumers' also reinforces the idea that audiences consume film in a more technological way and consume it in a wider technological field of exportation in the world of film.

Do film consumers view different films at home, and do they have a different response to the films that they view there?
The consumption of film can be illustrated in different ways when watching a film in the comfort of your own home. Yes, people do watch different genre style films in their own home. This idea can refer to a illegal consumption, films on the internet portrayed on webpages which release films on the internet that haven't been released legally in the country and in multiplex cinemas. Viewing a film at home means that you can respond in any type of manner you wish, whilst your not stuck in a auditorium of 50 people+, you can have any type of response you like without bothering anyone and fully know that you can consciously completely enjoy the film as you please. The issue in the changing nature of of film consumption in relation to developing viewing technologies could be researched through discussion with older members of your family. Basically, when talking about the 'changing nature of film consumption', discussion can be justified through older people(parents/grand parents) who have grown and managed to adapt with the rapid technological change with luxury film industries. People of different generations and that have been introduced to cinemas and the world of film definitely have different consumptions and personal interest of what independent and multiplex cinemas have to offer; the development of film through CGI,cameras, editing and equipment justified this statement.  Collaborative research between older views who have a different perception of films and who have grown and witnessed the growth and change of 'film consumption also reinforce the idea different audiences consume different genre convention style films and that the consumption of film has changed over the years.
Another way in which the consumption of audiences has changed over the years is is through the technological devices giving audiences a broader field of abilities to access their content. Devices with different search engines and different ways to save what you want to  watch(webpages/bookmarks. Youtube/playlist. Phones which have apps.) and these views of viewing interaction with what the 'customer consumer' wants to watch has drastically changed how people all over the world who use technology, whether it be only a bit or an advanced piece of technology has completely changed how quickly and how efficiently they want to access their content. Of course, these are examples of mainstream videos being streamed at home, not in a cinema auditorium.

Film consumption:

One way in which audiences consume film and one way in which this consumption has changed over the years is through audience profile. The certification for example, its possible to identify specific types of audiences/viewers for different films and age certification is a key example.  People who view films in the cinema don't necessarily have to be the specific age that the certification has given, its completely fine if the older people who are older also watch these films with their friends, family or all by themselves, whether it be in the cinema or at home. However, people that are aged below the age rating shouldn't be watching these films. In the modernized world of today, in 2014, security is a must in a multiplex cinema and age certification is imperative and is checked before they sell the tickets. Ordinarily, people who work at cinemas ask people for proof of their age and identity. For example, if a film has a specific age rating of 18+, then ID or bank card must be shown as justification of your age. So people watching films in the cinema is controlled. However, anyone can just get a another person's bank card or ID that looks like them and they'll be allowed in, if they get caught(which is a crime by the way) they'll get into a lot of trouble.
On the other hand, people who are desperate to watch these films in the cinema for pure enjoyment or any other reason and who can't get through because they are under age will most likely just watch it at home and download a pirated copy or juts get their parents credit card and pay for the film which can be portrayed in the internet through business webpages or other applicable platforms such as Netlfix. Also, genre reinforces the way people consume film and how film consumption has changed over time, is through genre. Genre certainly plays a part in the profile of audiences for particular films. Generic reference also applies to the idea of different kinds of film consumptions. You can't simply say that a wider target audience of men would prefer watching action packed blockbusters( Fast and the furious 6) and that a wide range of woman prefer to watch lovely romantic films (The 40 year old virgin)  because there can be a group of audiences who are just woman that take an interest in  both, similarly with the men,or neither to be honest.  Also genre recognition reinforces the development of audiences consuming films differently over the years. This has been done through the dominance of a specific of a gender in a specific area of a film. For example, a massive group of people that are men would rather prefer to watch Kick-ass than woman, In the same way female dominance is portrayed in a 'chick flick' where a small amount of men would take interest in those whether they'd be portrayed in a multiplex cinema or through a independent film institution.
Also, multiplex filming institutions providing 'expected generic elements' for target audiences, done through previous films that have received feed back or a sequel of another great film or just a unexpected success are essential to the development of filming institutions and all reinforces the idea that people consume films and have a done so differently compared to the consuming audiences who have done so watching films in black and white with no special effects.

Another way in which the audiences consume film and another way in which the consumption of films as changed over the years is through mainstream and independent film companies.
When specifically talking about multiplex cinema, they have offered all unique ways to enjoy a film over the last 20-30 years.  A bit of air blown from beneath your feet in the cinema when a intensive scene is displayed and having 3D goggles is a interesting factor to consider. Multiplex cinemas which has special effects and CGI(computer generated images) and independent film companies offer a unique range of interest. First of all independent film institutions run outside the main film companies but are known to be successful and are portrayed at festivals for enjoyment theoretical reasons.
A festival portraying a film can bring in a lot of money and this idea also back ups the idea that film consumption has changed over the years. The streaming of films is so famous that its being portrayed outside the cinema to so many people and this type of film consumption is very intriguing. They also have unique patterns of distribution, different types of narrative, a mind teaser ending and much more. Demographic multiplex mainstream cinema audiences range from about the ages 14-24 and this broad field of different age groups bring in an immense amount of money to the box-office, not saying that people outside this age group don't bring in a massive amount of money from hit blockbusters but that age group is the most noticeable.  Also, independent film audiences are hard to describe, they don't tend to take such a great amount of interest in ordinary films so its hard to justify what they specifically like but they're examples of the changes of the consumption that people have taken over the last 2-3 decades.

Relationship between the viewer and the film:
In mu opinion, viewers consume film in all different aspects and platforms. People that range from short to high attention spans take interest in all sorts of genres, this can determine the distinction between age, gender, ethnicity and personal experiences and correlative interest. 7 Billion people with 7 billion personalities will either stabilize or de-stabilize all sorts of big hits, block busters and other releases because the 'customer consumers' are the main reason why the film development has changed for the better and will continue to change with improvements.

Context for film assumption:
Why do so many people visit multiplex cinema's?

Most likely over convenience and choice and especially over the technological development and high quality production. People who have a ignorant and broad understanding of what they might expect from a film industry. Friends and families who have these interest might influence their opinion, however their interest could lie in a independent filming institution which offer aspects and building blocks of the film that the standard cinema auditorium might not offer. Mainly, people visit these these multiplex cinema since it is much more convenient and easier to enjoy. Another reason why people go ti multiplex cinema's is through the aspects of the cinema which they offer. They officer the foundations of everything that has been developing since the film itself has developed after WWII. CGI is a immense factor and development of the reason why people multiplex cinemas.

What is a British film?

                                                            kidulthood

A predominantly British cast and crew?

The film 'kidulthood' is a British style film with mainly containing actor's with a home background, actors which are British.  Actors such as:

aml ameen- 30 July,1985, born in London
Adam Deaccon- March 4,1983, born in London
Jaime Winston- 6th may, 1985,Camden, London

These actors are all born and raised in London, whether they perfectly fit the role of their character correlating towards how they actually are depends on the actors themselves, however their roles were fascinating and it made a fantastic blockbuster, those 3 aren't the only 3 British actors that took part in this blockbuster, this kind of blockbuster is intriguing towards people living in London today.

British funding?

The funding for kidulthood received its funding from the UK film council. Revolver Entertainment received about £6/000/000 to produce this film which is a short budget for a film compared to other fantastic blockbuster, the funding came from the UK film council as an attempt to bring a broad range of films to the audiences to the UK.

Discussions of issues which are pertinent to British audiences in particular?/ British target audience?

One thing that is discussed that is pertinent to British film are the mise en scene. The conventions of the way their portrayed. For example, When people think of England, especially in the de-modernized time's people would think of class, tolerance and intelligence. Every local to business men wearing smart, sophisticated clothing. Discussion affiliate around the idea of the way British films are portrayed today and how they compare and contrast to the older times. British audiences today have a far different understanding to the idea of 'Britain' compared to foreigners and tourist all around the world who would think of coming to settle down or visit Britain.
Secondly, the idea of 'British heritage' is intriguing, Kidulthood in this sense. is a more modernized British blockbuster which has been lowly funded like kidulthood doesn't reinforce the idea of 'British Heritage' and also illustrates to the viewer that England is a nation living outside of London. Also, especially when talking about kidulthood the 'multi-ethnic' society of Britain today has pertinent effect on British audiences. Different styles of genre can also be consider when talking about broad and basic issues to the target audience.

The British target audience range from the ages of 13/14-30 year old , this is because there are links between the actor's roles and the British people of today compared the older realization of British illustration. However, the target audience can be anyone who takes interest in this style of Blockbusters where people of younger and older issues can relate and understand what the character is trying to portray because in some way they are living similar life styles.

Representation of Britain and the British way of life?

The representation, of Britain and 'Britishness' can be referred to today's society or in the 20th century where films were first created, in this case, kidulthood illustrates a more understandable style of britishness in the blockbuster where a more dangerous life style in London was shown, it shows people in groups called gangs and people back-stabbing each other. Where trust is a rare gem to find in the distorted society that they live in, controlled by a hateful democracy and groups which control areas that kill one another through physical violence and with armed weaponry, in this case knifes. However Britain overall, and the British way of life isn't revolved around that, with more class shown in the blockbuster as well, daily busy streets with people specializing in their job.

                                                         Inbetweeners

A predominantly British cast and crew?

The Inbetweeners is a British style film which was casted in London in 2011. The actor's which are famously known are of all different ages and appear to be from Britain or wales.

Simon Bird, August 19th, 1984 (age 30) - English actor
Joe Thompson, 28th October , 1983 (age 31)- English actor
Greg Davies, May 14th, 1968 (age 46) - Welsh actor

Pretty much all of these actors are British or Welsh, this reinforces the idea of 'Britishness' portrayed in the film since the background of the narrative has a broad range British background which tells the viewer and producers using British actors and crew is really effective for the idea of it being a British film. However, this ideology of non-ethnic multi cultural society which is not presented in the film when comparing to the people living in London might have a diverse effect to the understatement of 'Britishness' and how the British film industry and this film for example has developed with British actors.

British funding?

The Inbetweeners film in 2011 has been announced by the producers and channel 4 that it will spend a budget of just £1,000,00 which is only a neutral amount compared to other highly good expected films such as spider man which costed £200,000,000. The film council must have thought that the idea of this film was brilliant and that it didn't need a immense amount of explicit money to produce a fantastic film in this sense, comedies don't cost as much as action packed films or sci-fi films that has a huge budget expense and only using £1,000,000 is not a much of a risk even if it were to become a failure.

Discussions of issues which are pertinent to British audiences in particular?/British target audience?

One issue which is pertinent to British audiences is through the way in which the film is portrayed, this can be specified through the genre conventions or the idea of British people. The older generations might think British film's should be portrayed with a sophisticated story line, one where the viewer can think through and analyse the plot such as Veritgo. However, today's more modernized and detailed story line with actions packed CGI where every bit of detail is portrayed could also be an understanding topic when correlating towards the idea of British films. For example, the inbetweeners has a very basic story line where and everything is illustrated through out the film.

Representation of Britain and the British way of life?

The representation of Britain and British lifestyle is very clear and powerful in the Inbetweeners, the surroundings look very much like London, the small corners and areas with houses of similar style closely packed together. Secondly, the school uniform and and the people around the similar ages being around each other in classes also tells the viewer the scenes are set in London.
Thirdly, idea that they travel as school students also reinforces the idea of British life styles around people of that age (16-24).

How has the internet changed the film experiences for audiences?

How has the internet changed the film experiences for audiences?

Research:

''Understanding the film industry and audience activity is vital for film studies'', The internet has also contributed to the revolution of film for the audiences through commercials and different styles of genre being distributed by larger amounts film producing companies. E.g Warner Bros/20th Century fox and other independent film companies distributing with the collaboration of UK and US film distribution methods. Non-theoretical distribution distribution is mainly used in the UK, where scenes in the internet are displayed for the target audience (e.g. School kids).

Answer: How has thew internet changed the film experiences for audiences

The internet has changed the experiences for different types of target audiences in many ways. One way in which it has done this is through non-theoretical film distribution. Its basic knowledge that the anyone on the internet who is being portrayed that they've put in their search engine want their content for free. Primarily, non-theoretical film distribution is used for a group of people, in London, it can be used for a purpose which is to educate children through the content displayed by the internet. The internet also has changed film experiences through audience's by helping them to stream whatever they choose in the comfort of their own home. The film industry world is so modernized that there are different techniques used to distribute all kinds of films, millions of film can either be purchased on webpages to view on your phone (which is done by apps) or it can be downloaded and payed for, with some sort of membership.

Another way in which the internet changed the film experiences for audiences is through the availability of the content. In other words, apps which can be downloaded or webpages which stream the films that viewers are looking for, webpages (usually which stream the films for free) or apps that help to download the films that they want whether you have to pay or not are two of the most main-stream and broad interceptions of the media and film industry which dramatically change how the viewers can access film and has a immense impact on film producers, in this case a negative impact and the whole idea of 'films on the internet' is changing with the revolutionary world where technology is advancing as rapidly as the amount of human's on this planet. Human interception has a massive correlation between whether people would want to stream their films on their technical devices or watch it the good ol'way in the cinema. Many people would rather take advantage of these new way that stream films and watch in the comfort of their own home. Apps which can be obtained from the internet is a efficient way to portray films. Especially with technology revolutionizing just as much as technology nowadays, mobile phones have the simplicity to stream their content to people who want to watch films in the comfort of their own home. This isn't only done through mobile phones but have at least since the 90's been done through computers and laptop. Illegal webpages which stream content for free is a big issue in the world of film, not to mention that other webpages also stream all sort of films for free, however, for some you have to pay which is also a way in which people get what they want. Bringing you back to one of the main points, people want their content for free.  The internet is general is a massive system it has webpages from you tube to BBC i-player. So nowadays the economic stability of film's being produced is failing or has at least plummeted in the last 2-3 decades.

A third way in which the internet has changed the way we access film is reinforcing the point that viewers want their content for free. Downloads and apps being installed, web pages portraying the same content is having a pessimistic downturn on the economic develop of the film industry and may have a negative impact on people who want the thrill of viewing films in the cinema, depending on if its a pleasure to them or if they would rather prefer watching it in the cinema. Also, home video distribution is a strong factor to consider. People can purchase DVD players and  Cassets through the internet, people can buy blue-ray films from the internet and, again watch it at home in their own comfort rather than watching it in the cinema.

Lastly, people would always want to view their content for free, and will take measures to do so, unless they are in a situation where they are forced to pay or if they'd rather watch it at home in good quality which they don't mind paying for. The economy of the country and collaboration to make that film will depend on whether its in the US or UK but pounds(£) is a stronger currency than dollars ($). However the idea of film in itself and micro and macro analysis of what is contained in the content also determine how much the the final cost of the film is. The economic income of the film depends on what currency the country is using and how popular the film itself actually is.  All of the changing economic activity has changed the internet and how people from all around the world have new film experiences. For example, downloading apps and paying for films to watch a film in the comfort of your own home has diverse economic effect on film distributing industries who are releasing new films and this change is giving the audiences more and more options making them feel privileged. This also, from personal experiences makes me feel good since I have more than one way to view film and has a positive effect on me. However, no matter how many sector of viewing films or other content related to it will change the thrill/excitement of watching it in the cinema so it the effects on the audiences can differentiate. Money nowadays has a immense impact because it can restrict and retain the type of of way people can view films especially in our revolutionary developing world today. For example, if someone who has a secure broad band at home can go on pirated webpages and stream their content for free, where as people who have a lot of money or wouldn't mind spending money would just rather make the trip to the cinema. This can also change the view the audiences experience through time. If a person doesn't have time to travel to the cinema or there isn't a local cinema or a cinema anywhere in their area then they are forced to watch films at home which is another plus sign for lazy streamers, however its disappointing for the people who want the thrill of watching films in the cinema and it also has a pessimistic effect on the filming industries who bring in less money from the 'customer consumers' and has a negative downturn on the income they get.

Top 10 films || Factors and budgets

What factors do you think helped secure such huge amounts of investment in these films?

One factor that helped secure such huge investments is the sector of 'customer consumers', this means that the team that produced these films had a rough draft of the amount of income they'd get from the customers when the film was released from a specific time period, these drafts would also implicate the success of any sequels or other genre style related films. The customer income also helped to secure such huge amounts of investment in these expensive films because the money the producers and editor's get from the films would match and exceed the limitations of money they'd spend on making these films. However, the 'customer consumer' is only one of the factors that help secure such huge profits in making these films such a huge success.

Another factor that helps secure such huge amounts of investment in these films is the high quality and production of the films, for example, 'Spider man 2' which had a massive budget of $200,000,000. That is a massive amount of money, the amount of money spent to perfect these films reinforces the idea that the quality and amount of editing, special effects and actor's in these kind of films are very interesting and engaging, the type of film that would be famous world wide and spider man is a solid example. Also, the amount of money spent on these films also justifies that the film already had a prediction of the amount of money they'd bring in before hand when correlated to other block busters or genre style films in these industries.

A third factor that I think helped secure such huge amounts of investment in these films is how and where its distributed. For example, UK and US film distribution can connotate different aspect of the film's success, whether its a independent film distribution company or massive production companies such as Warner Bros and 20th century fox which make a lot of money and are partnered with UK film companies or other film producers. The collaboration of the US and UK film distribution companies also played a big part in the huge amounts of investments in these films. However, the success of a film can never be justified until its made and until its been released, so a lot of film producers make risks when spending bug budgets on films.

A fourth factor that helped secure such huge amounts of investments in these high quality and quantity film is the producer's, famous producers who have taken part in these productions and draw in a very large and broad amount  of 'customer consumer', this binary opposition is a positive collaboration between other film distributors and local customer looking to reinforce and spread the word of such fantastic releases. These releases are also backed up by posters, commercials, rumors/'spreading the word' and talk's (meeting between other producers who have different partner ship). These methods of expanding the word of the film will arose the public who are leaching of these films to take their minds of their everyday life.

Koshin's Blockbuster

TITLE: THE DESIRE

1)Blockbusters have very simple story lines that are easy to understand and have universal appeal. This is done through the symbolic materials shown in the film. The story line tells us that its set in central California and a disease is spreading. A man (Kirk Van Baster) has found a cure which he had constructed himself and is now on a quest to find 24 other of his lab with 24 recovery pills who are in the Netherlands that are capable of producing more recovery pills in their labs to help cure as many people as possible. The story line is basic enough to understand because of the landscapes shown in the film. This constructs the idea that the world is about to end. This disease instantly kills when it spreads to the blood stream.

2) Blockbusters are populated by characters who are easy to understand. Each character shown in the film are imperative for the film's interest. However, the main character Kirk Van Baster is the most important shown mostly through out the film travelling and being determined to stop the disease from spreading all over the world and causing human life to end rapidly. Another character who is his right hand man and helped him to get to safety is called Mark Klasen who helped him to safety after the disease hit Kirk.

3) Blockbusters are marketed on their 'look'.

The CGI's help shows the explosions of 'clean areas' in Central California that are blowing up the exit points for infected people entering the area. The sound track is very upsetting and thrilling at the same time.

4) Blockbusters become a brand. This has become a brand through the industrial revolutionary world of film by the audience who are called 'customer consumers', they are a big part of the film's success through the spreading the word and bringing in money. Also, the brand is established through the film producers who make synopsis of the film and trailers.

Block buster research 'I am legend'

1) Blockbusters have very simple story lines that are easy to understand and have universal appeal. This was done through the sparse population and pessimistic background mood. It ties into its look and has a universal appeal towards the protagonist Will Smith and the audience viewing it. It has a very simple story line since the simplicity and the actions in every scene are very basic to understand. Every bit of each scene that is being portrayed in the film, it engages the audience through the thrill of the film and the purpose of the story line just attaches itself to the human mind and subconsciously makes you feel as if you're part of the film. The story line reinforces the 'universal appeal' by the conventions of the film's targets. This is why the film is such a success.

2) Blockbusters are populated by characters who are easy to understand. This has been done in I am Legend, for example, the main character Will Smith (Robert Neville) is a character who is anxious and paranoid due being consumed by loneliness. Also, this character is shown mostly through out the entire film, showing his importance through his characteristic such as intelligence and mental/physical strength. Also, another easy character in the film being portrayed is his dog (Sam), the audience can relate to this and it makes the audience feel sympathetic for the Robert which slowly intrigues the audience even more and people aspire to his role in the film when compared to his own life style. Sam or Sammy plays a important and completes the role of Robert Neville's; its even easier to understand the simplicity of this character when his only comfort is his dog and the Sam seems to be a reflection of his desire and positivisty to save the human race.

3) Blockbusters are marketed on their 'look'. This is portrayed in I Am Legend through the effects of the computer generated imagery. For example, when Robert went back in the darkness to rescue his dog Sam, the shots from the gun showed effects and it reinforced the idea that this blockbuster is marketed on its 'look'. Also, CIG's were used to show the difference in appearances through the monsters and the last surviving human Will Smith. Also more and more special effects were used as the film continued through out, for example, the bridges and cars exploding.

The film producers who created teasers and trailers and actor's who associate with other famous films. A big part of their brand is also will Smith who helped to stabilize the economic income of the film produced and make a profit of the film that became such a massive success in 2007.

Film production task 5

what are film production values? refer to examples

The film production can be addressed as the 'quality' of the film, famous or highly rated films with a very high budget will most likely have a high production value. Some films are deliberately have cheap production values because of the genre style just as classical films so the production value compared to the modernized world will be much cheaper. When going to cinema nowadays a film with a high production value will be expected. Films with a high production value are usually bigger and better. As a film producer it is vital to make films with a high production value, this is expected as the producer will think the film is be very attractive.

Explain why these are important to both producers and audiences

High production values are important for the audiences viewing their film because it will mean that the film is much more attractive, quality wise and the audiences will immediately think the narrative and everything else will fall into place. The production value is also important to the audience because the style of genre could also refer to the quality, if the quality isn't good then the audience will lose some sort of interest in the film that they are viewing. The producer's film production value is vital to the success of their film, if the production style doesn't meet the requirements then they'll lose some sort of interest in the film.

Is there a difference between British film production values and American film production values?

British film industries have a whole stereotypical view of film compared to American films. For example, when people all over the world who have a vague understanding of the complexity of the difference between British and American film industries usually think of British films to be filled with smart clothing, class, and sophisticated character film roles. Actor's with specific and polite narratives that capture this posh, old fashioned idea of 'Britishness'.
Secondly, when referring to American film production, the vague understatement would be the idea of big famous stars, holly wood block busters and actor's with immense, action packed comedy films. However, when going further into detail, the ideals and the development of production can be described in all sorts of different ways and by distribution such as big companies (Warner Bros) and other personally known independent film institutions.

Film production company

What is a film production company? Mind map with examples.

A film production is a production which can be broken down through independent film, a collaboration and mainstream film. It is a company which producers film through strong analytically scene production. They edit and fix up any issues technically with the film to make sure that the effects, narrative and the film as a whole is exactly how it is supposed to be.

Independent film production - A film production producing films completely outside the major filming studios/industry. Made by independent filming institutions, they make films without the help/collaboration of film industries like 20th Century fox or Hollywood films.

RAW (Independent)- RAW is full service, video production and distribution agency based in central London. Their goal is to inspire and to engage their target audiences with outstanding video content (Based in the UK).

Archer's Mark(Independent)- Archer's mark is a independent film production company that is based in Shore-ditch East London. Its a film production company with a strong cross over of film and TV departments. They produce and innovate authored work with wide commercial appeals.

First born film(Independent)- First born film is a independent film company based in London which produces, drama, comedy and documentary. They also produce short films and features.

Mainstream Hollywood, UK/ US Collaboration and independent film

 Snakes on a plane:
Mainstream Hollywood -  Snakes on a plane is film that is based as thriller and action. Some of the quotes consists of the exaggerated points to intrigue. ''They are the deadliest creature on earth'', '' They have just been unleashed'' and ''They attack without warning''. From the trailer we have also learned that it would bring the idea that the scene was set because we saw the snakes come out of a duct. The scene is set on a plane with a terrible, gloomy and frightening climate.  The intensive non-diegetic sounds supports the idea that its a action/thriller.

The full Montey:
US/UK collaboration - The full Montey seems to be humorous, with optimistic non-diegetic music, the cross over between British/American life styles, accents and food they eat. The cross over also consists of the the climate, through the rainy life style in the British country side compared to the big buildings economic stability with the American part of the scene. The American values consists of the narrative, their dream .

Withnail and I:
Independent film- The withnail and I seems to be a unique in its own way to be un-engaged with the non-diegetic sound portrayed,

The Dark knight rises Interview - Christopher Nolan (2012) HD

Christopher Nolan- Nolan's Directing style is very competitive,
Nolan only chooses the best among actors who fit in exactly with
what the role is asking for. Engagingly, the physical features of the
actor's themselves such as the mask and the daring eyes Bain (Tom Hardy),
The directing style of Nolan is made up from actor's who maintain
consistency through out. Having months of training of hard wok, progressing
at a pace that will capture the perfection of how the film is to be presented.
Also, the trilogy to the film took about 9 years, this is due to the quality and superb
entity of the film. The choice of actors is very narrow for this particular film.
Nolan has also said that the characters themselves who have trained months
for these kind of roles have primary been selected and made the film good.
The character and personality all fit in with the narrative and audience
expectations
