Hollywood's revolution and 'voice, The change of the ultimate system!
Hollywood, exactly what does it mean and what does it stand for? Hollywood, also known as the cinema of the United states of America have revolutionized and has been modified as the critical society's and the world as a whole has developed. Hollywood's transformation has had 4 main chapters which explain the near perfection of films that we all enjoy. From massive conglomerates such as Sony, Warner Bros and paramount that have distributed and enhanced the beauty of film.
The silent era was the beginning of all films, around the 1920's the American film industry has grown. In early 1910, a man named D.W. Griffith has been sent to down town Los Angeles by a company named Biograph. They continued their travelling and settled down for a while in a small village named Hollywood. The first ever film was made in Hollywood named 'In old California'. Before WWI more and more film producers migrated to Southern Hollywood as industries developed so did the city and landscape of Hollywood. The climatic nature of the city during that era seemed to optimistically on their side. The weather was dry and sunny which allowed small technologies such as under developed cameras which portrayed the old school fashion of filming.
In was Griffith in 1915 which created the film called 'Birth of a nation' , this continuity of amazement and social realism created a immense image for the Hollywood film industry, at this stage already without a star system.
During the 1920's to the 1960's Hollywood's Classical film production was the stepping stone of its image and distribution which only expanded further. The golden age of the Hollywood film industry which lasted for 40 years created 1000's of films and the box-office and the filming conglomerates were at their peak. In 1927, when 'The Jazz singer' was released it was believed that it ended the silent era. At this stage in Hollywood's development they focused on embedding sound into their productions and final pieces(films which are completed). Focusing on collaboration within the US and creating and only improving their usage of filming techniques and connotations the Hollywood film industry started looking at producing films and genres for people of every age to enjoy. They also started creating flip animations and Black/White cartoon imagery for the children to enjoy.
Within the later stage of the Hollywood's development, in the 1960's and 70's post cultural cinema was described as a method of creating a constructive narrative which was where the circumstances of target audiences were met and plot complexity was portrayed. For example, the usage of Todorov's theory and gratification theory was used. Also, the usage of protagonist and antagonist. Film makers of those decades such as Francis Ford Coppola which has embedded the techniques of the 60/70's has initially created two ways of box office profits. Hollywood film makers were critically acclaimed and commercially successful.
